
Named after Laura E. Sutherland who was a faculty member (English, 1921-1959) and dean of women (1939-1947).
Sutherland Hall was built in 1965 and provides accommodations for approximately 140 men and 260 women. Sutherland Hall is the second largest residence hall next to Towers Hall.
Sutherland Hall is located on upper campus, near the Crest Wellness Center, tennis courts, and volleyball courts.
Sutherland Hall is home to the Social Justice Living Community. Please view Housing and Residence Life's Living Learning Communities site for more information.
Some annual events of Sutherland Hall include an opening year picnic, Halloween/Pumpkin Chuckin' contest, Charity Day, End of Year - Rock Your Socks Off picnic, Homecoming competitions, outdoor movies and more!
