New Student Housing Information

Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire

By living in one of our residence halls, you will have an opportunity to become part of an exciting, dynamic and rewarding environment that will encourage personal development through community living and involvement.

Room Assignments

You were recently sent information about how to view your hall and room assignment as well as roommate information. You will have an opportunity to visit the hall you’ve been assigned to between 3:15-5:00 p.m. during your Orientation session this summer. Residence Hall Tours are conducted at 12:15pm and 3:15pm throughout the summer.

Unassigned Students

If you are a student who is currently unassigned, we will notify you as soon as we are able to assign you a space, but no later than August 15th. Feel free to check the RMS website for updated assignment information. In the meantime, check out the links below for more information about residence life.

Opening of the Residence Halls

The residence halls open on Thursday, August 29th for first year and transfer students. Classes officially begin on Tuesday, September 3rd at 8:00 a.m. Unless we receive word from you concerning a late arrival on campus, your space may be released and reassigned to another student after this date.  Check this website around August 1st for more information regarding specific residence hall move-in times.

Parking

Parking is limited on campus. We recommend that freshman do not bring vehicles. To ensure fairness permits are granted by lottery. Participating in the lottery does not guarantee a permit. The cost of the permit is $223 and will be charged to the student account. You may enter the lottery online after June 3rd. You will need your UWEC user id and password. The deadline to apply is July 26th. Late entries will not be accepted. Results will be available online beginning August 5th.

If you no longer plan to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, please notify us in writing as soon as possible.

Please contact the Housing & Residence Life Office if you have any questions regarding the opening of the residence halls. We hope the forthcoming year will be a rewarding experience for you.
