You must have a GPA of at least 2.75, but the GPA you actually need depends on how many students apply and what their GPA's are. If your GPA is below 3.0 you should discuss your situation with your faculty adviser. The advising office has an online GPA calculator that can help you figure out what it will take to raise your GPA. In addition to your GPA, the committee considers your performance in ES 210/211, your portfolio, and recommendations faculty in your major subject area make with regard to your Knowledge, Skills and Dispositions. You do not need to ask faculty for recommendations. They will receive recommendation forms directly from the chair of the broadfield social studies committee.
