Determining Your Operating System Version

 Windows

1. Right Click on the "My Computer" icon
2. Select "Properties"
3. In the Dialog box that appears, under the "General" tab, there will be a "System" heading with the Operating System listed below.
   
   

Macintosh

• Earlier than OS X
  1. Select the Program name in the upper right hand corner and change it to "Finder"
  2. Click the Apple in the upper left hand corner
  3. Select "About This Computer"
  4. In the dialog box that appears, you will see "Version" with the Operationg System version following
  
  
• OS X
  1. Click the Apple in the upper left handcorner
  2. Select "About this Mac"
  3. In the dialog box that appears, under Mac OS X you will see "Version" listing the version of the Operating System
