VPN (Off-Campus)


In order to access your Shared Drives from an off-campus location, you must connect to a VPN.
This page includes:

Connecting to AnyConnect


  1. Go to vpn.uwec.edu and log in with your UWEC username and password.

  2. Click the words 'Start AnyConnect' as shown below.

  3. AnyConnect will proceed to download a small program onto your machine. Follow your own machine's instructions to allow and install so the program will download.

 

Troubleshooting


On Windows 7 you may have the following pop-ups during the downloading process:


Note: You may first have a yellow bar appear at the top of your screen; click on the bar and then click Install This Add-on for All Users on This Computer.

Using AnyConnect - Mac OSX

  1. Click the AnyConnect menu on the top toolbar and select Bring AnyConnect to Front.
    Note: If AnyConnect is not currently active, you will need to navigate to the Cisco AnyConnect Client under the Applications shortcut inside the Cisco folder » Click on Cisco AnyConnect Client » log in.

  2. Click the Select button in the middle of the AnyConnect window.

  3. Log in with your UWEC username and password.

  4. When you are connected, you can log onto the drives the same way as on-campus. Learn how to do that here.

  5. Access your information (documents, etc...)

  6. Disconnect the Cisco AnyConnect by clicking on the AnyConnect icon AnyConnect icon  » From the menu, click Disconnect.

     

Using AnyConnect - Windows 7

  1. If AnyConnect is not currently active, go to your Start button  Start button and click on the AnyConnect icon  Cisco AnyConnect icon

  2. Log in with your UW-Eau Claire username and password.

  3. When you are connected, you can log onto the drives the same way as on-campus. Learn how to do that here.

  4. Access your information (documents, etc...)

  5. To disconnect from the drive, click on the AnyConnect icon  Cisco AnyConnect icon  on the Connection tab, click Disconnect.
