Selecting a Printer in Windows 2000 Labs

When working in Windows 2000 labs, it may be necessary to select and/or change printers depending on working conditions and usage needs. Knowing how to change printers is especially useful if a printer becomes low on toner or is not working correctly.

The following instructions are written generically for Windows 2000 and most Windows programs.

  1. Open the program you want to print from

  2. Open the document you want to print

  3. From the File menu, select Print...
The Print dialog box will appear.

  4. In the Print dialog box, from the Printer Name pull-down list, select the printer for the lab you are working in
    Print dialog box

  5. If necessary, make any other adjustments to the dialog box

  6. Click OK
