Connecting to Lucy

Web publishing on the UW-Eau Claire Web is done through Lucy, a network web server. Three types of websites make up the UW-Eau Claire Web: department/office, curricular, and student organization sites. These sites are stored on the Lucy server. You can edit your web account from any networked computer on campus, but only if you have permission to do so. For more information on web publishing, see The UWEC Web Publishing Process on the UW-Eau Claire Web.

These instructions show you how to use Windows 2000 to connect to Lucy on drive L. Depending on your needs, you may need to connect to other network drives as well. For information on how to do this, see Connecting to Network Drives.

Mapping to Your Web Area

In order to access the web server, you must connect to it. Windows refers to this as mapping a network drive.

  1. Log on to a computer with your UWEC Username and Password

  2. On the desktop, right click MY COMPUTER
    OR
Right click on MY NETWORK PLACES
    The Quick menu appears.

  3. From the Quick menu that appears, select Map Network Drive...
The Map Network Drive dialog box will appear.
