Working with Survey Results: Using Filters

Filters allow you to view subsets of your responses. WebSurvey can filter on dates (i.e., a date range during which responses were received) or on question and answer (e.g., only survey results for respondents who answered Yes to question 1).

  1. From the MySurveys page, for the survey results you want to view, click ANALYZEAnalyze button
    The Survey Results – Overview page appears.

  2. Click MANAGE FILTERSManage Filters button
    The Report Filters page appears.

  3. To create a new filter based on date,
    1. Click INSERT FILTERInsert Filter button
      Example: Date filter
    2. From the Select filter type pull-down list, select Date
      The screen refreshes with date options.
    3. In the Enter start date text box, type the beginning date for the filter
    4. In the Enter end date text box, type the ending date for the filter
    5. To apply the filter, verify that Active is selected
      The option is selected if a check mark appears in the box.
    6. Click SAVE
      You are returned to the Survey Results – Overview page, which now displays the filtered results.

  4. To create a new filter based on the answer to a question,
    1. Click INSERT FILTER
      Example: Question filter
    2. From the Select filter type pull-down list, select Question
      The screen refreshes with question options.
    3. From the Select question pull-down list, select the question for the filter
    4. From the Select answer pull-down list, select the answer to the above question for the filter
    5. To apply the filter, verify that Active is selected
      The option is selected if a check mark appears in the box.
    6. Click SAVE
      You are returned to the Survey Results – Overview page, which now displays the filtered results.

  5. To deactivate a filter,
    1. From the Survey Results – Overview page, click MANAGE FILTERSManage Filters button
      All filters for this survey are displayed.
    2. For the filter you want to delete, deselect Active
      The option is deselected if no check mark appears in the box.

  6. To delete a filter,
    1. From the Survey Results – Overview page, click MANAGE FILTERSManage Filters button
      All filters for this survey are displayed.
    2. For the filter you want to delete, click DELETE THIS REPORT FILTERDelete This Report Filter button

  7. To return to the Overview page, click RESULTS OVERVIEWResults Overview button
