Piping an answer allows you to have a user’s response inserted into the text of a question on a subsequent page. This allows you to have user-specific questions in your survey that are sensitive to the user's answers.
NOTE: Answers can be collected and piped only once the respondent has clicked NEXT. So, an answer can only be piped to a question on a subsequent page.
EXAMPLE: Question 1 asks “What is your state of residence?” A respondent to your survey answers “Wisconsin”. This answer is piped to question 3 on the second page of your survey, which asks, “What are the main tourism attractions in Wisconsin?”
From the My Surveys page, for the appropriate survey, click DESIGN
From the Modify Survey page, for the question whose answer you want to pipe, click PIPE![]()
The Answer Piping dialog box appears.
