This documentation addresses Voice Mail capabilities available only on IP phones.
The following options assume you are accessing Voice Mail options from on campus. Instructions are also available for accessing these options from off campus.
Microsoft Exchange allows you to access your voice and email options hands-free, by speaking a command. For example, the exchange attendant can read your Voice Mail, your email or your calendar to you.
On your phone, press the MESSAGES button![]()
Enter your PIN followed by [#]
You will be prompted with the commands to say to access the desired option.
Say the command for the option you want to hear
EXAMPLE: Say “email”
The attendant reads that option to you or asks for further commands to narrow the selection.
NOTE:
If you say “directory”, you will hear the options for finding someone in the UWEC directory. When directed, say the first and last name of the person you would like to contact and the system will give you additional options.
If you would prefer to access your voice and email options using the numeric keypad of your phone, you can easily do so.

Press [*] (asterisk)
To change your greeting, you will need to access the Personal Options. These options include changing your greeting(s) and your PIN number. The following instructions assume you will be using voice commands; however, you can access personal options to change your greeting using touchtone commands as well.
On your phone, press the MESSAGES button![]()
Enter your PIN followed by [#]
Say “personal options”
NOTE: For many of the personal options, you will be required to use touchtone commands.
