A Task is a project you want to track through its completion. A Task can be a project that has several steps, or a project that requires the attention of several people. With it, you can set start and end times, reminders, completion percentages, and other options.
Any project can be organized and updated by using the Task feature.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
On the Toolbar, click NEW![]()
An untitled Task dialog box appears.

In the Subject text box, type the name of the Task
NOTE: The Subject text box is the only required field in the Task screen.
From the Start date pull-down list, select the Task's starting date
From the Due date pull-down list, select the date the Task is due
From the Reminder pull-down lists, select the date and time you want to be reminded

Click OK
The Task is set to recur and the Recurrence dialog box closes.
Complete the remainder of the dialog box as appropriate
When finished, click SAVE AND CLOSE![]()
The Task is created and the Task dialog box closes.
Once a Task has been created, it can be edited easily.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
In the Reading pane, click EDIT![]()
The Task dialog box appears.
Make the desired changes
When finished, click SAVE AND CLOSE![]()
The Task dialog box closes and your Task is saved.
Although you can indicate a Task as complete by editing its completion percentage, you may also do so in fewer clicks.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
From the Task list, select the desired Task by clicking the checkbox beside it
The Task is indicated as complete.
When a Task is complete, or you no longer need it in your Tasks list, you may want to delete it.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
Select the Task you want to delete
From the toolbar, click DELETE![]()
OR
Press [Delete]
The Task is deleted.
To communicate information about a Task, you can forward it to others in an email attachment. Once the recipient opens the attachment, they can save the attached Task to their Task list or edit and forward it again.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
In the Task list, select the task you want to forward
NOTE: Do not click the box beside the Task. Doing so will mark the Task as completed.
In the Reading pane, click FORWARD![]()
A blank message appears with the selected Task(s) attached. The Task's title appears in the Subject text box.
In the To... and Cc... text boxes, type your recipients' address(es)
OPTIONAL: To type a different subject line for your email, in the Subject text box, make the desired change
In the body of the message, type your message
Click SEND![]()
The email is sent with the Task attached.
