Some sites, such as the WebCT and Desire2Learn, require Java and Cookies to be enabled.
Java is an advanced programming environment that allows you to run additional software inside your web browser. For example, WebCT uses Java for chats. If you are having problems with this feature, checking your settings is one of the first things you should do. By default, Java is generally enabled, but you can easily verify it.
From the Edit menu, select Preferences...
The Preferences dialog box appears.
From the Category list, click ADVANCED
The Advanced panel appears.
To enable Java, in the Advanced panel, select Enable Java
Click OK
Cookies are invisible text messages that help web sites keep track of information for you. They can be retrieved later in order to identify you, or in the case of WebCT to track whether you have logged in or not.
From the Edit menu, select Preferences...
The Preferences dialog box appears.
From the Category list, double click PRIVACY & SECURITY
OR
Click the arrow next to Privacy & Security
The Privacy & Security submenu appears.
From the submenu, select Cookies
The Cookies panel appears.
Select the appropriate options
Click OK
