| Improved Visual Effects |
Allows you to apply effects to text and shapes that were previously exclusive to pictures (e.g., shadow, glow, reflection). Text and shape visual effects are found under the Insert tab. |
| Picture Editing Tools |
Allows you to fine-tune every picture while remaining within the document. You are now able to modify the colors of a picture, as well as crop a picture to achieve a desired presentation. When a picture is selected, a Picture Tools: Format tab appears. |
| Protected Mode |
Reinforces your computer's security by opening documents downloaded from the internet in such a way that editing is disabled. Allows you to see a preview of a document. If you think the document is safe, you can enable editing by clicking at the top of the document. |
| Screenshots |
Allows you to take a screenshot from another window (e.g., Internet Explorer) and insert it into your Word document. The Screenshot option is found under the Insert tab. |
| New Search Option |
Allows you to see a list of the word/phrase appearances. You are able to change the view of the list by sorting the appearances by Heading View, Thumbnail Page View, or Search Result View. Press [Ctrl] + [F] to access the search function. |
| Microsoft Word Mobile |
Allows you to review, edit, or comment on Word documents from your smartphone. Download Microsoft Word Mobile from the Microsoft Mobile web site. |
