The Entourage Environment

This document contains general information regarding the Microsoft Entourage 2004 environment. Taking a moment to review the following sections will enable you to move through the Entourage program with greater ease. 

return to topThe Toolbar

The toolbars in Entourage change depending on what option in the Navigation pane you are using. So, feature-specific buttons will appear on the toolbar depending upon what you are doing.

HINT: If you are unsure at any time about what a specific button on a toolbar does, you can hold your pointer over that button and a description will appear.

To view the toolbar:

  1. From the View menu, select Toolbars

The Navigation pane contains icons representing Entourage the following features: Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Project Center.

To use an Entourage feature, click on the corresponding Navigation pane icon to open that feature. The toolbar options will automatically change to reflect the selected option.

return to topThe Folder List

The Folder list will also change depending on which option you are using in the Navigation pane. The Folder list provides a more detailed listing of all your Entourage folders and subfolders, allowing you to navigate through them more effectively. If you have many folders in Entourage, it may be easier to locate and open them using the Folder list. An example of a Mail Folder list is shown below.

To hide/display the Folder list:

  1. To hide the Folder list, above the Folder list, click HIDE FOLDERSHide Folder button
    To show the Folder list, below the Navigation pane, click SHOW FOLDERSShow Folders button
