Any text not formatted with a specified font is shown as a default font. With this in mind, you should select a default font that is easy to read so that your web page is as accessible as possible.
For every language Dreamweaver displays, you can specify which default font you want to use for the Proportional font, Fixed font, and the Code view font. For definitions of these terms, see Terminology.
Proportional Font
The Proportional font is used for a majority of the text on a web page (e.g., headings, paragraphs, lists). The Proportional font will adjust the size of the letters so they only take the amount of space designated to them by the font. The default depends on your system’s installed fonts. For most U.S. systems, the default is Times New Roman 12 pt.
Fixed Font
The Fixed font is the font Dreamweaver uses to display text within pre, code, and tt tags. The default depends on your system’s installed fonts. For most U.S. systems, the default is Courier New 10 pt.
Code View
The Code view font is the font Dreamweaver uses to display text in the Code view. The default depends on your systems's installed fonts. For most U.S. systems, the default is Courier New 9 pt.
You can specify which font and size (by points) you want used for the default Proportional font, Fixed font, and Code view font in regards to any language Dreamweaver can display.
