Employer and Employee Contributions to Increase
Contribution rates for most Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) employers and employees will increase in 2014. The following rate increases were recommended by the WRS consulting actuary and approved by the Employee Trust Funds Board:
The total contribution rates are shown in the table below. In general, the total rate is split equally between the employee and the employer. This means general category employees will contribute .35% more of their salaries in 2014. Read more...
These new contribution rates will reflect on the Unclassified January 2, 2014 and for Classified on January 10, 2014.
Health Insurance Marketplace
Beginning in 2014, the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires most everyone to obtain health insurance for themselves and their dependents or pay a penalty when filing their tax returns. The Marketplace (or Exchange) is a new option for people to obtain health insurance.
For employees that are currently under a State Health Plan and depending on your circumstances, the “Marketplace” options may be of interest to you.
December Exam Canceled
The Office of State Employment Relations has canceled the December exam for State of Wisconsin Exams. State exams will not be given on Saturday, December 14, or Monday, December 16, 2013.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
