Limited Term Employment (LTE) is defined as "an appointment of a person to perform a grouping of duties and responsibilities under conditions of employment which do not provide for attainment of permanent status.” The duration of an LTE appointment will vary from position to position. By state law, an LTE appointment is limited to 1043 hours in a 12-month period. Employment in a limited term position does not guarantee permanent employment. Criminal background checks are required prior to employment. There are no benefits for many LTE positions for the first twelve months of employment.
Interested individuals may submit an LTE application online. Applications are not associated with a specific current opening and will be included in an LTE candidate pool to be considered for future openings.
LTE applications are grouped into two main categories:
How to Apply
All applications must include a resume. Only your resume will be forwarded to the hiring supervisor, so please include all information you want a hiring supervisor to see, including current contact information, education, job history, availability, etc.
Your application will be kept active for up to 6 months. New LTE job postings will be created in April and October, and you must reapply to the new job at that time if you still wish to be considered for LTE jobs. Your previous application will not automatically transfer to the new job opening. (Ex: If you submit your application in February, and you still wish to have an application in April, you must submit a new application to the new job.)
Please select the type of LTE position you would like to apply for:
Please note that although the application may ask at which locations you are interested in employment, your application will only be considered for employment at UW-Eau Claire. If you are interested in employment at other campuses, you must apply at each campus individually.
Submission of materials does not guarantee consideration for future employment in openings of this type, since availability can be unpredictable and consideration competitive. If you have already applied for an LTE job and would like to submit updated materials, please e-mail your updated materials to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contact Human Resources with questions or application updates/missing materials. Computers are available in the Human Resources department for completing online applications. If you would like assistance with the application process, please call ahead to schedule an appointment.
