French Provincial

This is another Revival style of the early 20th century.  This formal looking style is similar to the "rustic" French Normandy style. What is architecturally distinctive and expensive about this house?

Most French Provincial houses have these features:
French windows or shutters
high, steep hipped or gable roof
balanced appearance windows
second-story windows break through the cornice
expensive materials used: copper, slate, brick
