Eau Claire: Square Houses

Square houses have only four corners, but may be one or two stories high.  As indicated on the graph, cubic style houses were popular during the 1910s-1920s.  Cubic style houses commonly had two stories, and a pyramidal shaped roof, called a hip roof.  In the 1940s square houses once again became popular with the Cape Cod style (1.5 stories).
