The 1950s
were a time of prosperity
in Eau Claire. Average wages of workers in Eau Claire were the
highest in the state. It was also a big decade for the addition of
schools in the area due to the increasing population.

| 1951 | The State Teachers College was renamed Wisconsin State Colleges. |
| 1953 | Regis High School was opened as a central Catholic
high school. Eau Claire school board announced $1.2 program to add six new buildings to the school system. |
| 1955 | Sterling Pulp and Paper installed a hydro-pulpier to recycle fibers. |
| 1957 | Memorial High School opened with 493 seniors graduating that year. Senior High was renamed Central Junior High School. |
