Eau Claire: House Ownership

These data are taken from the Assessor's Office of the City of Eau Claire.  The assessor's records show the address of each house for which property taxes must be paid and the address of each owner, who pays the property taxes.  Two identical addresses indicate an owner-occupied house;  different addresses indicate a rental property.  Almost 80 percent of Eau Claire's houses are owner-occupied; yet two distinctive rental areas exist in the city -- the student area north of Water Street and the working class area north of Madison.
