Eau Claire: Small and Large Lots

Small lots predominated up to the 1950s and were especially common in the 1920s.  Large lots, on the other hand, really only appeared in large numbers from the 1950s and beyond.  Indeed, 63 percent of all large lots occur in these three decades.  Small lots closely correlate with small sized houses and so their pattern of distribution over the decades is also similar.  Except for a few large remaining 19th century lots in the inner city, most of the largest lots are found in the suburbs.
