Eau Claire: Residency of Whites in the Area

Whites tend to not move much over time.
  • In the past 10 years a higher percentage (59-71%)of recently moved persons are located in Northside Hill & Northside River Fronts, Central Business District (CBD), the University Area and Randall Park and the Westside as well as the track to the east of Putnam Heights outlined by Hastings Way, Hwy 94 and Fairfax St.  It is important to know that many of these areas are inhabited by apartments and college students allowing for a constant change of inhabitants.  The region east of Putnam Heights has an influx of inhabitants due to a recent increase in homes in the area.

  • Very few people (< 34%) have moved into Putnam Heights and the Town of Brunswick.  In the Putnam Heights Neighborhood many of the homes were built in the 60's and 70's and many of the owners have stayed in the area with little new inhabitants in the past decade.  The Town of Brunswick is in the country and many of the homes are owned by farmers and they have stayed in that area for the past decade as well to maintain their farmland

  • When compared to the map of persons moved in before 1979 this is very similar.  The highest percentage (> 32%) live in Putnam Heights and the lowest percentage   (< 14%) live in Randall Park & the Westside, the University Area, and the areas built up around Putnam Heights.
