The pattern probably has something to do with the history of the housing. The student housing area used to be housing for lumber workers, which was never meant to be lavish. Most of the houses are 1.5 to 2 stories with a number of small rooms. The areas with higher valued housing were either built to be valuable, or are new, desireable housing. Wealthier people built the homes to begin with. |
