Eau Claire: Units Within
Structures Hosting Two or More Units
|
Eau Claire has many tracts of land with structures housing two or more
individuals/families separately. These structures could be duplexes, apartment buildings, or
homes that have been divided up into smaller units. One can probably assume that
structures with two or more units in them are rental units.
- As one can see by examining the Units Within Structures of
Two or More Units-Whites map, the areas where there are many
rental units are concentrated. The numbers below the heading 'units'
in the map key indicate the number of individual units between all
structures of two or more units. That is to say, 2 units could be part
of one structure, while 45 units could be part of a large apartment
complex and both of these numbers would be combined to 47 total
units.
- The Student Rental Area is the area with the largest
concentration of two or more units per structure. There are 1198
individual units in this area; compare this to zero in the Putnam
Heights Area.
- Please note the difference in units occupied by Asians versus
the units occupied by Whites. This is because Whites in the Eau
Claire area are by far the majority.

- Asians mostly occupy the area near Dells Pond and the
Chippewa/Eau Claire Rivers confluence. In this area there are
45 units within structures hosting 2 or more units. The rest
of the population in this area is inhabited by whites in
rental units and single family, detatched homes.
- As one can infer by examining the map on the right, there are
many areas not inhabited by Asians. There is much more 'white
space' on the Units Within Structures of 2 or More Units-Asian.
The white space areas are areas where there are less than 15 units
in which Asians live.
- The areas with many units per structure are also low household
value areas. The highest concentration of the Asian
population, just south of Dells Pond, is an area where 87
percent of homes are valued between $50,000 up to $199,000. The Student Rental Area is an area with the highest concetration of
home valued between $10,000 up to $49,000. Please check out
the map White Housing Values
for more information.
