Eau Claire: Median Monthly Owner Cost by Mortgage Status
These two maps compare the median monthly owner costs by mortgage
status. The
tracts with the highest monthly costs are located in the Third Ward, by
the University, and an area south east of the University. The
Third Ward has bigger houses with bigger lots and require more
maintenace and resources. The map showing owners with a
mortgage (left) follows the same patterns as the map of
Median Real Estate Taxes.
This could be explained by the lower cost of housing in the center of
the city (downtown), thus resulting in lower mortgages.
