Eau Claire: Houses built in 1959 and earlier

The pattern for houses built in 1939 and earlier can be seen located around the older part of the city. North river front, East Hill and the area on the north part of Randall Park shows the highest concentration of houses built in 1939 or earlier which makes up about 65 to 54 percent. The area around Randall Park, Third Ward, Northside Hill and as well as Westside shows the second highest concentration of houses built in 1930 or earlier, and it makes up about 54 to 39 percent. Low concentration of houses which consist of 39 to 17 percent can be seen scattered around Westside, Half Moon Lake and around the Exurban , while the lowest concentration which is about 17 percent can be seen around Putnam Heights and all other areas of the city.  The style of houses built during this time period are Art Deco (1939), Revival styles: French Provincial, Normandy, Spanish and Tudor (1900-1920), Greek revival, Queen Anne and Italianate (1880s-1890s).

The highest concentration of houses built from 1949 to 1959 are located on the east of the Third Ward and on the southeast of East Hill with 85 to 53  percent. The next highest concentrated area which is around 53 to 41 percent, is located on the north of West side, Northside Hill and Putnam Heights. Concentration is scattered from the Westside, North river front, south of Dells Pond, East Hill, Third Ward and east of Putnam Park with 41 to 22 percent.  The lowest concentration with 22 percent is found in the other area of the city. Most of the houses were generally smaller and simpler and the common styles of houses that could be found were Cape cod  (1940s) and early ranch which consist of both California Ranch and Split Level Ranch (1950s).
