Eau Claire: 1 Persons Households by Block Group Based on 2000 Census Data
Patterns -- The highest incidence of one person households occurs in the block group containing the dormitories for the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Other densely (46%-65%) 1 person household block groups are found around areas which are mainly student housing, indicating the presence of efficiency style apartments. The homes in the “student ghetto” areas were originally family homes with several bedrooms which means that the homes must have been sectioned off into several smaller apartments. Hyperlinked in the eastern corner of the map below is a Google Earth aerial photograph of a relatively newer area of efficiency apartment buildings.
