Eau Claire: Year of Entrance for Foreign Born

When comparing entry years for foreign born citizens, many more areas had foreign people move in after 1980.  For before 1979, many of the foreign born population moved into the Central Business District (CBD).  Other places where over 90 percent of the foreign born population born before 1979 moved into were the Suburbs, a small area around  Dell's Pond, and a part of Putnam Heights.  The rest of Putnam Heights has between 65 and 90 percent of the population moving to Eau Claire before 1979.  Some areas along the Chippewa River and the Eau Claire River contains between 40 and 65 percent of the people in that area moving into the area from foreign countries.  The other areas have below 40 percent of the population entering the country before 1979.  Peoplt who moved into the USA after 1980 mainly moved into the  Ninth Ward and the area around Half Moon Lake, along with an area along the Eau Claire River, the area by the Third Ward, and a small part of Putnam Heights.  Between 60 and 80 percent of foreign born people who entered after 1980 moved into the Third Ward, an area by the Ninth Ward, the Exurban, and areas by Dell's Pond and Chippewa River.  The areas located on the Eau Claire River and Chippewa River have between 40 to 60 percent of the population having been foreign born.  The remaining areas contain less than 40 percent foreign born people moving in after 1980.

Many of the population that moved into the area located around the Chippewa River, specifically closer to Dell's Pond are from Asain countries including Chinese, Japanese, and Thai.  People who moved into Exurban are richer Asians such as doctors.  The Third Ward contains many foreign born professors from Asian countries and European countries.
