Most two-car garages have one or no car in them. 75 percent of Los Angles garages were used in ways that preclude any parking, i.e., storing stuff, boats, bikes, etc. In 1969, 5 percent of U.S. households had 3 or more vehicles; by 2001, 23 percent did.
