Mormon Landscape: Bishop's Storehouse

What was stored in this building? Why was the bishop in charge of this building?

Answer: In the past, Mormon families contributed food to storehouses like this which the bishops, the religious leaders of wards -- the smallest units of the LDS Church -- supervised and distributed to people as they needed it. Today Mormons tithe 10 percent of their income to the Church.
