Black Towns
All black towns were created by "freedmen" after the Civil War.
Learn more about Black Towns and Black culture at Soul of America.		 Mound Bayou in the Mississippi Delta is one of these black towns.
By comparison to the white towns with black sections in the Delta, Mound Bayou has a lot of good housing, such as this is a black-owned brick house.
