Las Vegas: Black Areas Tourists don't explore the "ordinary" places of Las Vegas -- places that Las Vegas shares with other U.S. cities -- but geographers do! The black population is concentrated on the northside (12 percent of Las Vegas city); indeed, largely in a separate city called North Las Vegas city (37 percent). In metropolitan Las Vegas, Blacks account for 10 percent. Housing varies from middle class to poor. What evidence do these houses provide that would indicate a poorer neighborhood?
