World's Only Corn Palace

A structure with vegetation! It's unforgettable -- nowhere in the world is there another such structure. The first Corn Palace, Mitchell, South Dakota, was constructed in 1892 as a tribute to Mitchell farmland. Each summer the Corn Palace is redecorated with a new theme using 600,000 ears of corn and 3,000 bushels of grains and grasses. To finance the redecorating of the Corn Palace costs annually approximately $100,000. Source for the photo and information: http://www.cornpalace.org.
