High Amana: Contour & Relief Maps

For the topographic map assignment dealing with High Amana, you are required to create a cross section of the topography. See your manual for where the cross section must be located. [Optional Terra Server: look at High Amana as an air photo [here you can select "Topo Map" to see a map version. Also change the map size to "large."]. If you want to see topo maps and air photos for other places, type the name of that place in the Search TerraServer box, or better, go the the Terra Server to see the coverage of the world that is available.]

Here is a contour map and a relief map of an area 8,000 by 5,000 feet in distance from the topographic map from which you will be drawing your cross section. Click on the map to see just the relief along the traverse line (shown as a dashed black line) that you are plotting. To complete the topographic exercise, you must look at the paper map on Reserve in the UWEC library!

Look at another 3D-version of this cross-section, which was created with the free software from Google, called SketchUp.
