I learned more in this one class than the rest of my college career combined!!!
I enjoyed al the lectures, especially the projects.
It was really challenging and mad you think about things in different ways.
It was just horrible and did not stimulate anything.
One of the best GEs that I have taken at UWEC.
Good course -- it really challenged me to a new way of thinking.
Class was very well taught and I learned alot about the Third World. The text was hard to understand at times. The two projects were fun.
This was an excellent course, certainly, better than I had preconceived.
The small group discussions were a waste of time. The time would be better spent in a question and answer periods.
I thought this course was very challenging but good. Some of the topics took awhile for me to comprehend but after awhile I got a hold of them. I believe I. Vogeler is one of the better and more interesting professors I have had. His lectures keep your attention. Good wit.
The course work was overwhelming at times for a 100 level course.
In the beginning the course was very hard, due to the reading assignments, but as the class went on it got easier to understand.
The slides were very good but I wish we would have had more of an outline. [developed these web pages in response]
It was an in-between course because I didn't find it very interesting.
Instructor is smart, provides good analysis of views. Good topics, textbook perspectives -- made you think.
I was a bit apprehensive towards taking it, as I thought it would deal primarily with memorization of facts. I found that the concepts, important ones, were the focus -- this is good.
The instructor did a good job. His methods at teaching were great and he involved everyone!
This is the hardest course I have ever taken. It's
challenging
and rewarding. Sometimes, it'll even leave me rather upset with society.
One of the best courses.
Seldom that I find a teacher as dedicated to both teaching and learning.
Tests could be shorter.
Very interesting.
The best part was when I left to puke.
The course and the instructor challenged my thinking and views many times. The instructor's vast knowledge of the subject made the material interesting. He was very fair with grading. I would recommend this course.
The lectures, slides, self-tests and small group discussions helped with learning. Tests were too long.
I really enjoyed the Web pages; as a review for the exams.
Readings were hard to understand. I learned more during the second part of the semester. Liked the projects. Liked the idea of picking your own grading system. Good idea with email. Liked self-tests. Long tests!
