West Africa: French Bread

Which culture introduced the type of bread being sold at this roadside stand?

Notice the pots in the background that the locals use to cook their food.

Who, by class and cultural tastes, are the customers?

Answers:
1) French bread:  introduced by the French in "their" West African colonies
2) The bread is sold to well-to-do Africans, who have acquired European food tastes, and tourists -- primarily the French who visit this former French colony of Burkina Faso (the French arrived in 1897) in which the elites and many others, e.g., traders, still continue to speak the official French language despite independence from France in 1960.
