The park lies in the Terai, Nepal’s Gangetic plain with an elevation of 600 feet above sea level. To the south lies the Someshwar Hills (and beyond India), and the Narayani River (shown here) separates the park from the north. The Terai lowland accounts for 17 percent of the total land area of Nepal.
