Pokhara lies at 3,000 feet on Phew Lake, one of only four lakes in Nepal. In the background is the Annapurna Range with its many mountain peaks. Pokhara is a resort town for the Nepalese, including the summer palace of the king of Nepal, and a staging center for trekkers.
