Beginning with the academic year 1995-96, a capstone experience is required of all geography majors. This requirement can be met by taking one of three options:
Select the option in consultation with your advisor. Students with a comprehensive major in resource management or a major in land use, cartography, urban/economic or any other geography major where an internship experience would be helpful in meeting career goals should give serious consideration to taking Geography 498. Even if Geography 498 is not taken as the capstone experience, any student may enroll in Geography 498 as an elective in their major. An internship with a public agency can also meet the university's service learning requirement. Information concerning this requirement, procedures, and forms should be directed to the Service Learning Coordinator.
