Faculty who inspire
The commitment and passion of UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff were the highlight at the UW System's February 2015 Board of Regents meeting, when the regents and all present viewed the documentary above, which followed nursing faculty member Dr. Cheryl Brandt through her days (and nights and weekends) as a nursing educator.
The video, titled "A Look at the Work of a Nurse Educator," was the first in a series to be produced for the UW System to inform the regents, state legislators and the general public about the totality of the work of our UW System faculty and staff. The response to the video was a sustained standing ovation among regents and guests.
Watch Dr. Brandt balance teaching, nursing practice, clinical instruction, research and more to ensure her students are prepared for the demands of today's nursing careers and to take on leadership roles in their field. Thanks to the support of generous donors, the UW-Eau Claire Foundation provides vital support to faculty and staff like Dr. Brandt as they work to provide transformational learning experiences to today's generation of Blugolds.

Putting research into real-world practice
Dr. Susan Moch, professor of nursing, is an innovator of collaborative practices that link academics with public health nursing. Her significant leadership is preparing future nurses to be culturally competent in a changing public health system and apply evidence-based practice in the clinical setting.
Nationally esteemed in science
Dr. Kurt Wiegel, associate professor of chemistry, is one of just seven people nationwide to receive the prestigious 2012 Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, which recognizes young chemical sciences faculty as outstanding teachers and for their scholarly research with undergraduates. UW-Eau Claire boasts five Dreyfus scholars on faculty.
