Pride AND Performance

The new documentary "Pride AND Performance" follows first-year students Eduardo Rafael Leoncio do Nascimento, a cymbalist, Briar Swann, a baton twirler, and Ben Mackie, a mellophonist, through their first year as members of the Blugold Marching Band, one of the most active bands in the Upper Midwest.

The students' first-year journey is narrated by band director Randal Dickerson and the band's senior drum majors Nick Hansberry, Kara Metzger and David Lofy. The story follows the three freshmen from band camp to their first on-field performance at Homecoming and to the annual BMB showcase performance at Chippewa Falls High School. It illustrates the commitment and creativity that made the BMB a national leader.

The huge success of the Blugold Marching Band, as well as the production of the "Pride AND Performance" documentary, are made possible by the generous support of donors to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.

BMB at 2014 Homecoming

Invest in the Blugold Marching Band

Your gift in support of the outstanding UW-Eau Claire Blugold Marching Band will help the band fulfill its commitment to excellence every time they take the field. Gifts of any amount will help BMB replace uniforms and instruments that are more than 20 years old:

  • 250 bibber pants (must be replaced in 2015) - $112 each
  • 250 uniform coats (must be replaced in 2016) - $152 each
  • 6 mellophones - $1,334 each

The BMB is also looking to purchase a 17-foot equipment truck to reduce truck rental costs every time they travel - even to Carson Park for a football game. A group of parents from Eden Prairie, Minnesota have already talked to Dr. Dickerson about making the first gift for the $38,000 truck purchase - your donation can help make this happen!
