Naming Opportunities

Would you like to leave a legacy on the UW-Eau Claire campus that bears your name? We can help you select a naming opportunity that is suited to your passion and personality or one that honors or memorializes someone special. Your gift provides permanent and significant resources to the university that will benefit generations of Blugolds.

Below is a list of the minimum naming levels, including minimum levels for named endowments and named annual funding opportunities:

In the case of a name on a new building or on a substantially renovated existing building, the naming is intended to be permanent.  For all other names on physical structures, the naming is for a negotiated, fixed period with the donor having first right of refusal to renew naming with an additional financial commitment.  The negotiated fixed period must be approved in advance of the gift by the Foundation executive committee and the Chancellor.
New Building

40-50% of the building cost

Substantially renovated existing facilities

At least half of the cost of renovation or remodeling – name on building or prominent recognition in appropriate location

College: $5 million

Center: $2 million
(i.e. CETL, Materials Science Center, etc.) 


Building Wing/Floor: $1 million 

Large Classroom or Lab: $250,000

Smaller classroom, lab, suite of offices: $100,000

Departmental offices: $50,000
Individual faculty/staff office: $25,000


Investing in people


People

Named endowed chairs, funds and scholarships are intended to exist in perpetuity.  The perpetual endowment is at the discretion of the donor in consultation with the Foundation.  
Endowed chair

$1.5 million for existing salary line;
$5 million to establish a new position
(annual funding option for this category not available)

Professorship, department chair, coach, program director

$1million to endow or $50,000 per year for annual support with minimum funding commitment of 5 years

Visiting Professorship

$300,000 to endow or $30,000 per year for annual support with minimum funding commitment of 5 years.

Visiting Lectureship

$250,000 to endow or $20,000 per year for annual support with  minimum funding commitment of 5 years

General Scholarship

$30,000 to endow or $500 per year for annual scholarship with minimum funding commitment of 5 years

Blugold Commitment  Scholarship

$25,000 to endow or $750 per year for annual scholarship with minimum funding commitment of 2 years
