Empowering the Campus Campaign

Thirty-two faculty, staff and emeriti took advantage of a matching gift, which
let them leverage new gifts and gift increases to Campus Campaign 2009. A
couple who annually give $1,000 gave $2,000, resulting in a $3,000 gift, and
a new donor gave $2,500, resulting in a $5,000 gift.

The 400 current and retired employees have already contributed over $338,000 in fiscal year 2009. This includes a bequest of $150,000.

“This giving reflects how generous and engaged UW-Eau Claire employees and emeriti are despite a gloomy economic outlook,” said campus co-chair Larry Solberg, assistant dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences.
