Campus Campaign Aids Comprehensive Campaign's Success Participation in the Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence campaign by faculty, staff and emeriti was a significant factor in the success of the university's first comprehensive fundraising effort. Twenty-eight percent of faculty, staff and emeriti participated through the annual Campus Campaign, donating more than $1.5 million. Planned gifts to the campaign from faculty, staff and emeriti totaled more than $4,467,000. "We want to thank faculty staff and emeriti" said Diane Doudna, director of annual giving for the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. "The high rate of participation made a real difference in the campaign. We were fortunate to be able show we had support through exemplary involvement and generosity. This level of campus commitment made it possible to ask alumni and other friends of the university to participle." The Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence Campaign which concluded Dec. 31, 2007, raised nearly $54 million. While many challenges were met, the Foundation is continuing to address student needs through special initiatives, including an effort to fund faculty fellowships in every department, a community-wide effort to renovate and expand Hobbs Ice Arena in Eau Claire and a campaign to make UW-Eau Claire an All-Steinway campus. The campus community will have the opportunity to support these initiatives or to invest in other teaching and learning opportunities at the university through the 2007-08 Campus Campaign.
