Joshua R. Brown is Assistant Professor of German. He completed undergraduate studies in German, Slavic and Classical languages at Millersville University of Pennsylvania and Philipps University in Marburg, Germany. He received his PhD in German and Linguistics from Penn State. Josh enjoys teaching most of all, especially first semester German, German civilization, and business German. He has published and presented research on the interfaces of language and (religious, gender, sexual) identity, language shift and cultural change. His primary research interests are on German-American socioreligious minorities: the Amish, Mennonites, and Hutterites.
