Annually-occurring utility outages allow for preventive maintenance and repairs that prevent unplanned emergency outages due to breakdowns.
Electrical Outage
Associated with the construction of the new Education Building, there will be a short electrical outage on Saturday, March 16. The outage will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will affect Schofield Hall, Hibbard Hall, Brewer Hall, and Zorn Arena. Schofield Hall will have electrical power restored after the first 30 minutes. Hibbard, Brewer, and Zorn will be without electrical power for about four hours. Each of these buildings has an emergency generator that provides electrical power to emergency life safety equipment.
This summer's planned electrical outage will occur on Saturday, June 8. The outage will last for approximately 8 hours starting at 7:00 a.m. The buildings affected will be Davies Student Center, Schofield Hall, Zorn Arena, Brewer Hall, Hibbard Hall and the Education Building. All of the affected buildings have emergency generator power, for emergency uses.
