Some venues have installed sound systems that can be used for voice reproduction and simple audio playback (CD/iPod/DVD). Spaces equipped with these convenient systems are Zorn Arena, Schofield Auditorium, the Council Fire Room, Davies Theatre and the Spruce–Tamarack Room. Each system has a wireless mic and CD player included. House sound systems require at least one technician to set up, monitor and strike the event. Additional technicians may be required for setup/strike.
PORTABLE AUDIO — SMALL
The smallest of the portable sound systems, the Yamaha StagPas 300 comprises two self-powered 150-watt speakers on tripod stands. It has four mic + two stereo line inputs. This system is good for voice reproduction in small venues and meeting rooms, and playback of CD/iPod/DVD/Computer. At least one technician is required for the setup and strike of this system.
PORTABLE AUDIO — MEDIUM
The middle of the road, The Yamaha StagPas 500 comprises two self-powered 250-watt speakers on tripod stands. It has four mic + two stereo DI + two stereo line inputs. This system is great for voice reproduction and small jazz combos. It is best used in medium-sized venues for up to 150 people. At least one technician is required for the setup and strike of this system. A technician may be required to monitor the event.
PORTABLE AUDIO — LARGE
This system is the start of our professional PA sound systems with a maximum of 24 mic inputs. Comprising four EV SX300 main speakers on tripod stands and two monitor mixes, this system easily handles event needs. Included in this system is one wireless mic, CD player, two channel effects processors and necessary equalizers. Recommended uses are dances, voice reproduction and small music groups. This system requires at least 1.5 hours of setup by two technicians. At least one technician will be required to monitor for the duration of the event and at least two technicians for an hour to strike this system. • For Cabin performances, please select this option.
PORTABLE AUDIO — CONCERT
Presenting a concert? Comprising the JBL VRX array, this system includes a matched pair of 15" subs coupled with two VRX928LA cabinets to carry the highs. It also has the capability of up to 4 separate monitor mixes. This system also includes an iPod dock, dual CD player, eight gates/compressors and two channels of effects processing. This system is recommended for use in Zorn Arena, Schofield Auditorium, the Council Fire Room and the Central Campus Mall. This system requires at least two hours of setup by at least four technicians. At least two technicians will be required to monitor for the duration of the event and at least four technicians for at least 1.5 hours to strike this system.
