JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ushers are student staff who provides ushering services at events requested by various departments and organizations on the University Campus
  • Remember: An Usher is the face of the University and must display him or herself in a professional manner while working at Usher Corps events.
  • All Ushers Corps employees are required to work four specific events throughout the school year. These events include at least one Homecoming event, at least one Winter Commencement Ceremony, at least one night of the Viennese Ball, and at least one Spring Commencement Ceremony.

    (not required but is recommended)

POSITION DUTIES

  • Project a friendly image at all times
  • Help patrons with any needs or questions they may have
  • Attend semester general meeting
  • Assist in evacuation in case of emergency
  • Duties at events:
    • Direct patrons to their correct entrances
    • Seat patrons in reserved areas
    • Hand out programs
    • Check IDs if necessary
    • Provide security at entrances and dressing rooms
    • Direct parking
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
