The Department of Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire invites applications for a probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 20, 2012.
Responsibilities
- Applicants will be expected to teach courses as assigned in the Department of Special Education.
- The successful candidate will also participate in research and scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.
- Salary will be commensurate with teaching experience.
- Summer employment is possible.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate by August 20, 2012 preferred; ABD will be considered, with completion of degree required by August 19, 2013.
- Additional requirements include doctoral studies in special education and successful employment (within grades 1-8) as a licensed special education teacher of students with high-incidence disabilities.
- The following will be considered an asset for the position:
- knowledge of scope and sequence of reading instruction and demonstration of its successful implementation;
- knowledge of curriculum design for students with academic needs; and
- commitment to the values of equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
